Sustainability

GreenCollar strives to be a leader not only in the services we provide but also for our demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sound environmental practices.

Central to our commitment is the need to acknowledge the impact of our business on the environment and to ensure that we are at the forefront of implementing strategies to minimise both our carbon and wider environmental footprint.

As a professional services organisation, the majority of our carbon footprint is made up from emissions through travel, while the remainder comes from office consumables, electricity, gas, building and contents. These emissions are offset through a combination of investment in voluntary carbon credit initiatives and proactive abatement strategies aimed at lowering our overall energy consumption. Our sustainability credentials for the 2008/2009 financial year will be audited by an independent chartered accounting firm.

We have successfully “greened” our supply chain so that our waste to landfill emissions are minimal. Other initiatives include a staff policy that encourages walking and cycling to work and use of public transport for client meetings. We even offer a free bike service for our employees each year. We are also diligent in keeping account of the environmental impact of our suppliers.

Greening our operations has been challenging and we are happy to share our results. Please contact Jan Rieche at  +61 (0)2 9994 8033  for more information.
