Energy is a sector heavily affected by the world’s need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Energy production alone accounts for about 65 percent of the world’s emissions.

The GCS team has acquired extensive experience in the energy sector, including renewable, science and engineering, energy efficiency, waste-to-energy production and carbon capture and storage. Our team and partners have provided these services to clients around the world, including in China, Laos, Costa Rica, Chile, Australia and Ukraine.

GCS has assisted the energy industry with management of carbon asset portfolios. Our work in this space also includes auditing, such as tailored services based on clients’ requirements, or expert guidance on compliance reporting (such as under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting – NGER – Act in Australia). We provide services with regard to origination, carbon due diligence, contracting, financing and support of regulatory issues and provide expert advice in the most challenging of cases.
